Good Things Happening

Since the world is in a bit of a state right now, let's focus on the positive things going on in our community.

We LOVE the new Composting Program. Please take part and place your food waste in the bright green bags that the city provides. It really helps the environment and our earth needs all the help it can get. Once full, place your green bag in any large rubbish/trash container and your food waste will be made into compost and the green bag will be recycled.

Didi you know, Cascais is the first municipality with organic waste collection in the whole territory.

Hot tip: Keep your food waste container in the fridge so as not to attract fruit flies.

DONATE YOUR UNWANTED GOODS

If you have some useful goods, in good condition (e.g. toys, books, furniture etc.) that you would like to donate, register those goods here. If any of the places (that need the donations) are interested in what you have, they will contact you.

The 42nd drinking fountain has been installed and marks the completion of the 1st phase of the "Rede de Bebedouros de Cascais" project, an initiative by Cascais Ambiente that is supported by the Parish Council of Cascais and Estoril.
Objectives:
Socials - Ensuring access to clean water for all
Health - Encourage people to drink more water and less sugary drinks.
Sustainability - Reduce the use of single-use plastic bottles and consequently reduce plastic waste that ends up in the ocean.

In keeping with this, make a note that every year, the third Saturday of September is National and World Cleanup Day .

This brings together people worldwide to clean up and care for their communities, and Cascais celebrates this event.
